Ermish, Camarillo earn All-NEC honors

SOMERSET, N.J. – Two members of the Bryant University softball team earned All-Northeast Conference laurels as announced Wednesday by the conference office. Junior Gabrielle Ermish (Pottstown, Pa.) was named  First Team as a utility player, while freshman Toni Camarillo (Corona, Calif.) earned All-Rookie Team honors.

Ermish was Bryant's top pitcher in the bullpen leading the Black and Gold with 62 strikeouts and a 2.51 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched. She set a new career-high of six complete games as well as a new personal-best of 10 strikeouts against Central Connecticut on May 1. At the conclusion of the regular season, Ermish led the conference with a 2.70 strikeout-to-walk ratio. On the offensive end, Ermish made her first plate appearance at the start of the conference schedule against Saint Francis U where the junior went three-for-seven with an RBI after not batting since the 2018 season. In the doubleheader with Robert Morris, Ermish was three-for-five on the day with three RBIs, one home run, and one double as well as accumulating four strikeouts in an all-around effort.

Camarillo was one of the top freshmen in the NEC this season as she held the title as the conference's toughest player to strikeout after only being retired four times in her career. No NEC pitcher has ever struck out Camarillo in 44 at-bats during the conference schedule. The rookie posted her best conference appearance in game one against Robert Morris by going two-for-three at the plate with two RBIs, one run scored, and one stolen base. Camarillo leads the Bulldogs with 40 hits on the season to make up a .310 batting average as well as leading the Black and Gold with 21 runs scored. On the defensive side, Camarillo was Bryant's primary shortstop accumulating 85 assists, 64 put outs, and a .955 fielding percentage.
