Marcel records five RBIs in the Dawgs victory against SFU
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Megan Marcel of the Bryant University softball team recorded five RBIs and went 2-2 from the plate in the Bulldogs' 5-2 Northeast Conference home victory over Saint Francis this afternoon.
The Bulldogs gave SFU their first conference loss of the season.

How it Happened
- Jenna Gardner, Toni Camarillo, and Sarah McKeveny hit singles to load the bases in the bottom of the first inning. Marcel then drew a walk to give the Bulldogs their first run of the game (1-0).
- During the top of the third inning, SFU tied the game with a single up the middle (1-1).
- McKeveny and Carlyn Hernandez began the bottom of the third inning with back-to-back singles. Aleix Hudson then laid down a sacrifice bunt, which advanced the runners to second and third. Marcel then ripped a single through the left side of the infield, bringing both runners home (3-1).
- In the top of the fourth inning, the Red Flash responded with a solo home run to left-center, shrinking the deficit to one (3-2).
- McKeveny hit a leadoff single during the bottom of the sixth inning, and then Hernandez reached first on a fielding error by the SFU shortstop. Hudson then laid down her second sacrifice bunt of the day to advance the runners to second and third. Marcel then launched a double to right-center, bolstering the Bryant lead to three (5-2).
