Trimble and Courtney Paolantonio combine for four RBIs in win at Maine

ORONO, ME. - Abby Trimble hits her second home run of the season, and Courtney Paolantonio goes 3-for-4 from the plate with two RBIs in the Bryant Univeristy softball team's 5-4 comeback win against Maine on the road.

"Really proud of our fight and resilience all day. We did a great job of being patient and competing at the plate.  A lot of credit to Josie for shutting down their offense and giving our hitters a chance to get that first game.

How it Happened (GM1)

  • The Black Bears recorded a two-RBI single in the bottom of the first (2-0).
  • In the bottom of the second, Maine scored two runs on a single (4-0).
  • During the top of the fourth, Jenna Gardner tallied a walk, and Trimble launched a home run to left field, cutting the deficit in half (4-2).
  • Trimble recorded a walk, and Hannah Cochran hit a single to put two runners on in the top of the sixth. Alexis Clancy drew a walk, which set up Courtney Paolantonio, who hit a single to right field, tying the game at four. Aleix Hudson and Megan Marcel drew back-to-back walks bringing home the go-ahead run (5-4).
