Gex comes up clutch in the 9th, as the Bulldogs defeat Maine in Extra-Inning thriller

ORONO, ME. - Josie Gex comes up clutch as she hits an RBI double in the top of the ninth to give the Bryant University Softball team the 3-2 extra inning win and series win.

Aleix Hudson tallied her 100th career-hit as a Bulldog and Kylie Kenney finishes the season with 12 wins and 128 strikeouts.

"I can't say enough about our resilience all season and today was a microcosm of it all.
We got down but never gave in and just kept competing on defense and in the circle and eventually we had a couple balls fall in at the right time to give us the runs we needed."

• Gex hit an RBI double in the top of the ninth to give the Bulldogs the lead.

How it Happened 

• Courtney Paolantonio hit a single with one out which, was followed by back-to-back walks from Aleix Hudson and Megan Marcel. Bryant tallied their first run on a wild pitch in the top of the first (1-0).
• In the bottom of the third, Maine tied the game at one on a double.
• The Black Bears took the lead in the bottom of the fourth on a groundout (2-1).
• Hannah Cochran hit a lead off double and advanced to third on a wild pitch, during the top of the seventh inning. Courtney Paolantonio brough Cochran home on a sacrifice fly (2-2).
• In the top of the ninth, Trystan Salvador drew a walk with two outs, which setup Gex, who hit a double, giving the Bulldogs the lead and eventual win (3-2).
