TRACK & FIELD CONCLUDES 2010 SEASON AT IC4A CHAMPIONSHIPS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University track and field team concluded its 2010 outdoor season at the 134th annual IC4A Championships this weekend at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J.
The Bulldogs sent freshman Dierdre Doyle (Carlow, Ireland), who participated in the women’s 3000 meter, and the men’s 4x400 squad consisting of senior Alex Engel (Spencer, Mass.), juniors Michael DiBella (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) and Thomas O’Connor (Westwood, Mass.) and freshman Joseph Pugliano (West Springfield, Mass.).
The men’s 4x400 squad finished the season on a good note, running a group personal record. The foursome finished in 24th place but put in a time of 3:16.16, besting their previous mark of 3:23.88 set earlier this season at the Bryant Invitational.
O’Connor, who ran the third leg for the group, also participated in the men’s 400 meter dash. The Massachusetts native set a personal record in the event with a time of 48.70.
Doyle rounded out her stellar freshman campaign with a time of 10:21.67 in the women’s 3000 meter run.
