SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's indoor track and field teams have enjoyed great success at Harvard's Gordon Track over the years and Sunday was no different as the Black and Gold registered a solid performance at the 2011 Greater Boston Track Club Invitational.

Junior Sherika Nicholas (East Potchogue, N.Y.), who recorded one of her top performances last season at the Harvard facility, finished a team-best eighth in the 200m dash with a time of 27.68. Joining Nicholas as a top-performer were newcomers Martha Reynolds (London, England) and Eimear Black (Glengormley, Ireland). Reynolds and Black put forth a strong showing in the 1 mile competition, finishing seventh and ninth with times of 5:18.87 and 5:10.00 respectively.

The women's side received a record-breaking performance from sophomore Amanda Dilley (Bridgewater, Mass.) who set a new standard for the 60m hurdles with her 8.70 mark in the preliminaries.

In the field Katelyn Kheller (Wrentham, Mass.) led the Bulldogs on the women's side with a 10th-place spot in the shot put competition, hurling the weight 9.95m.

On the men's side, junior Anthony Monteiro (Leominster, Mass.) continued his dominant indoor campaign, pacing the field in the 60m hurdles preliminary with an 8.45 mark. The Leominster, Mass. Native would go on to take first-place in the 60m hurdler finals with a time of 8.50, setting a new school record that he had previously set in 2009-10.

Other highlights on the men's team included Joseph Pugliano (West Springfield, Mass.) who recorded the ninth-best time in the 200m dash with a time of 23.08. Michael DiBella (Upper Saddler River, N.J.) finished third in the 400m dash with a time of 51.99 and the Bulldogs finished the outing with a remarkable third-place finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:29.76.

Chris Brida (Southampton, Mass.) led the Black and Gold in the field events, finishing fifth in the long jump competition with a distance of 6.39m and fourth in the triple jump with a length of 13.38m.

The Bulldogs are back in action Feb. 5 for the Tufts Invitational before heading to the Northeast Conference Indoor Championships in Landover, Md.
