T&F preps for NECs at Brown

BULLDOGS COMPLETE FINAL POSTSEASON TUNE-UP AT BROWN SPRINGTIME INVITATIONAL

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – With the Northeast Conference Championships this upcoming weekend, the Bryant University track and field team got in its final tune-up  on Sunday (April 29) at the Brown Springtime Invitational.

Senior Anthony Monteiro (Leominster, Mass.) had the best finish on the afternoon, earning second place in the 400 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 56.99. Monteiro also earned a seventh-place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.34.

Classmate Ryan Busby (Derry, N.H.) ran the 800 for the first time this year and became the first Bulldog to record a sub-2:00 time, finishing 12th with a time of 1:58.17. Kyle Reid (North Raynham, Mass.) finished seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 11.24. Patrick Decker (Colchester, Conn.) matched his season-high in the pole vault with a height of 3.90m.

On the women's side, sophomore Eimear Black (Glengormley, Ireland) posted the top finish, claiming third place in the 5000 with a time of 17:57.22. Freshman Brooke Tomasetti (Waterford, Conn.) was just a shade off of her season-best time in the 800, finishing 16th with a time of 2:19.47.

The Bulldogs will now set their sights on the NEC Championships this weekend, May 4-5, in Emmitsburg, Md.
