Watts, Duka set records at Terrier Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University track and field team broke two more school records over the weekend at the Terrier Invitational in Boston, Mass.

School Records

Alexandra Watts (Clinton, Conn.) and Milan Duka (Belgrade, Serbia) did the honors this weekend, breaking school records in the women's pole vault and the men's mile. Watts matched the school record in the pole vault with a height of 3.20m. She tied Abigail Petersen who set the mark in 2008.

Duka set his second school record of the year, posting a time of 4:15.37 in the mile. He broke the mark of 4:15.47 that had been held by Ryan Busby since 2011. Duka finished 49th overall in the event and qualified for the New England Championships.

Other Top Performers

Kristen Hayes (Menands, N.Y.) posted a time of 56.63 in the 400m dash, finishing 22nd overall. The time qualified her for ECAC competition.

Melissa Lodge (Hopkinton, Mass.) finished 34th overall in the mile, posting a New England-qualifying time of 5:02.86.

Nicole Dempsey (Norwell, Mass.) finished 25th overall in the 60m dash, breaking the 8.00 mark for the third-straight week (7.90).
