Duka, Raper set records at New England Championships

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sophomores Milan Duka (Belgrade, Serbia) and Deion Raper (Brockton, Mass.) both set school records to lead the Bryant University track and field teams at the New England Championships this past weekend at Boston University.

The Bulldog men scored 11 points to finish 23rd, while the women finished with three points. Rhode Island won the men's team title and Northeastern took home the women's title.

Duka broke the school record in the 1000 for the third time this season, finishing fourth with a time of 2:26.37. Raper set the school mark in the 60m hurdles, finishing ninth with a time of 8.35. He broke the old school record of 8.44 that was set by Anthony Monteiro in 2012.

Several other Bulldogs performed well led by sophomore Kehma Johnson (Milford, Mass.). He finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 14.97m. Senior Kristen Hayes (Menands, N.Y.) finished sixth in the 200 with a time of 25.40 and junior Jonee Harrison (Dorchester, Mass.) was 10th in the weight throw.

The ECAC/IC4A Championships are this weekend at Boston University.
