Bulldogs resume indoor season Saturday at Yale Collegiate Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After nearly six full weeks off, the Bryant University men's and women's track and field teams jump into the thick of indoor season beginning with the Yale Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14.

The Bulldogs began the indoor campaign on Dec. 3 at the Alden Invitational on Brown's campus. The team had a total of seven top-five finishes and a handful of personal records. Junior sprinter Deion Raper (Brockton, Mass.) won the 60m hurdles and senior thrower Jonee Harrison (Dorcehster, Mass.) finished second in the weight throw for the Bulldogs' top finishes.

Freshman Kyle Walker (Colchester, Vt.) made the final of the 60m in his first collegiate meet and finished seventh with a time of 7.25. His 7.20 in the prelims was the fifth-best time in school history. Sophomore Melissa Hurwitz (Newton, Mass.) finished third in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 9.43, just 0.02 off of the school record

In the same meet last season, junior Melissa Lodge (Hopkinton, Mass.) posted a seventh-place finish in the 3000 (10:15.64) in her debut with the Bulldogs and Hurwitz finished 12th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.55 seconds.
