Nine from track and field earn All-NEC honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Nine members of the Bryant University track and field program earned All-Northeast Conference honors for their performance at the championship meet in May.

All-NEC honors are bestowed upon the top two finishers in each event, while All-Rookie honors are given to the top freshmen finisher in each of event.

Headlining the honors for the Bulldogs is junior Melissa Lodge (Hopkinton, Mass.). Lodge earned first team honors for winning the 1500m and second team honors for her performance in the 5000m. She was also a member of the 4x800 relay team that finished second.

Freshman Jacklyn Sullivan (Plymouth, Mass.) was the only other individual to take home All-NEC laurels. She picked up second team honors and all-rookie honors for finishing second in the 800m.

Sullivan also joined Lodge, Emily McNeil (Shelton, Conn.) and Olivia Weiss (Newton, N.J.) on the 4x800 relay squad that earned second team honors.

The men's 4x800 relay team of Milan Duka (Belgrade, Serbia), Christopher Wrenn (Norton, Mass.), Ryan Poholek (Attleboro, Mass.) and Richard Landry (Holyoke, Mass.) earned Second Team All-NEC honors.
