Chris Wrenn breaks 800-meter record at BU

BOSTON, MASS. – Junior Christopher Wrenn (Norton, Mass.) broke the program record in the 800-meter this weekend as the Bryant University indoor track and field team competed in Boston University's Last Chance Qualifier.

COACH SWITZER COMMENTS
"For coming off a big championship weekend and being a little tired, the guys performed great. To get multiple PRs and a school record is huge. We've got IC4As coming up this weekend to cap off the indoor season and I'm expecting a pretty big performance."

TOP PERFORMERS

  • Wrenn broke the school record in the 800-meter posting a PR of 1:52.56. Wrenn's performance qualifies him for IC4A.
  • Andrew Canale (Lincroft, N.J.) also broke his personal record in the 200-meter. Canale posted a time of 22.59 ranking him eighth all-time at Bryant.
  • In the 400-meter, Alec Binette (Glastonbury, Conn.) posted a time of 50.45 placing him tenth all-time and breaking his PR.
  • Senior Brian Salit (Seekonk, Mass.) and freshman William Bittrich (Duxbury, Mass.) both ran to personal bests and entered Bryant's top 10 record book in the 800-meter. Salit posted a time of 1:56.25 ranking him 6th all-time, while Bittrich finished with a time of 1:57.98 placing him ninth.
