BULLDOGS NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Friday marks the 13th time in Bryant's history that the Bulldogs will compete in the Terrier Classic. It's one of the biggest events of the year that Bryant competes in with over 30 schools being represented.
  • Last year at the Terrier Classic, Adam Winiarz (Norton, Mass.), Andrew Canale (Lincroft, N.J.), and Jason Dolan (Westford, Mass.) all became NEICAAA qualifiers in each of their events. At the time, Winiarz set a new personal-best in the 200m with a time of 22.39 before breaking it in the NEC Indoor Championship with a time of 22.37. Canale qualified in the 400m with a personal-best time of 49.34, while Dolan qualified in the mile run with a PR of 4:16.17. All three are set to compete in their respective events on Saturday.
  • The Men's Distance Medley Relay team of Jordan Dagrin (North Kingstown, R.I.), William Bittrich (Duxbury, Mass.), Christopher Wrenn (Norton, Mass.), and Dolan qualified for the IC4A Championship last year at BU. The team finished fifth out of 14 relay teams with a time of 10:11.53 and rank third all-time in Bryant's top-10 record book and look to continue on its success as the team will compete again this year.
  • Senior Brian Murray (Westford, Mass.) and junior Joel Urizar (Fairfield, Conn.) also saw success last season. Murray set a PR in the 200m with a time of 22.70 while Urizar set a PR in the 400m with a time of 23.45.
  • On the women's side, sophomore Rebecca Reynolds (Tewksbury, Mass.) set a personal-best last season at BU in the 400m crossing the finish line at 1:02.43.
  • The 4x400 team of Emily Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y.), Nicole Xiarhos (Berlin, Conn.), Grace Yost (Wanaque, N.J.), and Emma Garrity (Wilmington, Mass.) rank second in the NEC behind LIU this season for the fastest 4x400 time which the team set at the Dartmouth Relays with a time of 4:00.15. All four Bulldogs are set to compete on Friday in the 4x400 event.
  • For field events, Chris Fasano (Lake Grove, N.Y.) is set to compete in the shot put event. Fasano currently sits at third in the Northeast Conference for the best throw this season of 15.54m that he set earlier this season at the Dartmouth Relays.
  • Jacob Borgia (Westborough, Mass.) is also third in the NEC in pole vault for clearing 4.45m at Bryant's most recent meet at Bates.
  • Freshman Lily Lagoy is set to compete in shot put on Friday after throwing a personal best of 12.75m at the Alden Invitational. Lagoy's PR places her third among the NEC this season.
