Trott headlines record setting performance for Bulldogs at URI Invitational

KINGSTON, RI.- The Bryant track and field teams set four school records and made 11 new additions to the All-Time Top 10 list this Saturday at the URI Invitational. 

Sophomore Jasmine Trott had perhaps the most impressive performance of the day as she broke Eimear Black's (9:49.69) 11 year old school record in the women's 3000m with a time of 9:48.76; finishing 2nd overall. Junior Mike Marshall Jr. and freshman Lucas Kehoe also put on an impressive showing as the two of them tied Marshall's previous school record in the high jump with a height of 1.96m.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Dasani Stewart reset her school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.05m; finishing 3rd overall at the meet.

  • Kasey Thomas reset her school record in the shot put for the 4th time this year with a mark of 14.61m.

  • Matteo McIver had an impressive day in the weight throw, setting a mark of 14.04m which put him 8th all-time for the Bulldogs.

  • Aidan Hickey moved to 7th all-time after running a 4:16.22 in the mile.

  • Chloe Whiting finished 5th in the 3000m with a time of 10:13.57 to move to 6th all-time.

  • Lauren Haddad ran 59.59 in the 400m and now stands at 8th all-time for the Bulldogs.

  • Nolan Hickey picked up the win in the 1k with a time of 2:29.61 to improve his 3rd all-time mark in the record book.

  • Marissa Crowley posted a time of 3:05.24 in the 1k to move to 7th all-time.

The Black and Gold currently have had 22 members of their team qualify for the New England Championships.

What's next: The Bulldogs will head into a big meet week that will have them competing in Boston University's Terrier Invite as well as the Wheaton Invite.
