Women's Track and Field finish Top 5 at UMass Invitational

AMHERST, MASS.- The Bryant University women's track and field team finished fifth overall and the men's team placed tenth at the UMass Flagship Opener. The meet had originally been postponed from Friday and Saturday following snow over the weekend.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Savannah Pineda set the school record in the women's 200m with a time of 24.59. Three Bulldogs also ran sub 25 second times including Emma Green who was the previous record holder.

  • Nolan Hickey won the men's 5000m and qualified for New England's in his event debut with a time of 14:44.82.

  • Kasey Thomas won the women's shot after throwing 14.86m.

  • Zachary Clasby finished 6th in the men's long jump after jumping 6.51m.

  • Aliya Barrows finished 2nd in the women's 400m meter after running 55.97.

What's next: Bryant will be back at UMass on Thursday to start off a busy stretch. The Bulldogs will also compete at the Friar Invitational on Friday the 12th, the Merrimack Alumni Classic on Saturday the 13th, and the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
