Bulldogs win five medals at Day 1 of the America East Championships

BALTIMORE.- The Bryant track and field teams earned five medals and had multiple top ten finishes on Day 1 of the America East Championships. Bryant got off to a hot start as Ryan Slaney and Jasmine Trott would both take home the silver in the 10,000m. Lois Warden would then take home the gold in the women's pole vault after clearing 3.70m.

Heading into Day 2, the women's team is in first after scoring the most points on Day 1 in school history. The men are currently in fifth.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Ryan Slaney's second place finish in the men's 10k would break the program's all-time record (31:28.15).

  • Chloe Whiting set a new PR and placed 6th in the women's 10k after running 37:19.70.

  • Ashley Brule would join Warden on the podium in the pole vault after clearing 3.55m

  • Allyson Humphries would clear 3.40m and place 4th in the pole vault.

  • Kalen Knott won the bronze in the men's pole vault after clearing 4.25m

  • Nicholas Mirecki cleared 4.25m and placed fifth.

  • Aiden Guarneri placed 4th in the men's javelin after throwing 54.04m.

  • Brooke Bock cracked the Top 10 in the women's hammer throw after throwing 46.66m.

  • Shelby Anderson earned 4th place in the women's  javelin after throwing 33.91m.

  • Hannah McEntee rounded out the Top 5 in the javelin (33.85m).

  • Dasani Stewart and Iyana Brawsell both were Top 10 in the women's long jump. Stewart placed 4th after jumping 5.64m and Braswell placed 8th after jumping 5.39m.
