Women's Basketball Now 2-0; Defeats Felician 90-35

Bryant Tip-Off Day 2; Bryant University Defeats Felician 90-35

 

Smithfield, RI - The Bryant Women's Basketball took control early and defeated Felician College 90-35 in the final game of the Bryant Tip-Off.

The Bulldogs went on a 20-0 run early in the first half and lead 25-2 midway through the first half.

Freshman forward Kelsey O'Keefe (Warren, Mass.) scored ten points in Bryant's early run and finished the game with 15 points.

Senior Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, Conn.) led the Bulldogs with 16 points and six rebounds, while co-captain Joanna Skiba (Providence, R.I.) added 12 points and four steals.

Sophomore forward Alyssa Michella (Washington, N.J.) came off the bench late and drained four late three-pointers. She tallied 12 points in just seven minutes.

Bryant (2-0) led 41-21 at halftime. Their defense forced 31 turnovers, while the offense looked fluid throughout. Lynne-Ann Kokoski (Hatfield, Mass.) registered eight assists.

Fourteen of Bryant's 15 players scored in this lopsided affair.

Felician's Dee-Dee Smith led all scorers with 22 of her team's 35 points.

In the first game, American International shot 47% from the field and reached triple digits in a 107-67 victory over Queens College.

Alexis Castro led the Yellow Jackets with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Karen Arruda added 18.

Queens forward Jillian Henn led all scorers with 25 points, including seven from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs will open Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday when they host Saint Anselm at 5:30 p.m. at the Chace Center.
