ON TAP AT STRATIS ARENA

The Bryant University women's basketball team will wrap up its three-game road trip on Monday with a visit to Fairleigh Dickinson. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY

Entering Monday's action, the Knights hold slim 4-3 advantage in the all-time series. Prior to last season's win by FDU in Smithfield, the home team had one every game. Last January at the Chace Athletic Center, the Knights snapped that trend, topping the Bulldogs, 54-43. Bryant will be out to avenge the loss on Monday in game that holds major playoff implications.

LAST SEASON IN SMITHFIELD

Danielle Douglas (Silver Spring, Md.) dropped a team-high 17 points, but it was not enough for the home side, as Fairleigh Dickinson handed the Bryant University women's basketball team a 54-43 defeat on Monday, Jan. 30 at the Chace Athletic Center.

The win by the Knights marked the first time in seven meetings between both squads that the visiting team emerged victorious. After a slow start to the game, reigning First-Team All-NEC member Mariyah Laury exploded for a game-high 21 points, marking one of three players to finish the evening in double-digit scoring figures for FDU.

In addition to Douglas, the Bulldogs were led by Meredith Soper's (Winthrop, Mass.) game-high 12 rebounds. The junior also dished a team-high four assists. But a season-low 24.2 percent field goal clip (15-of-62) would doom the home team, and the Bulldogs continued to struggle from long range, finishing the game just 2-of-15 (.133) from beyond the arc.

FDU did not shoot significantly better, but the Knights' 32.1 percent mark from the field (17-of-53) was more than enough to propel them past the Bulldogs. The visitors managed a 2-of-11 mark from long range (.182), but the Knights thrived from the line, knocking down 18-of-21 from the charity stripe (.857).

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS

Fairleigh Dickinson enters Monday's contest sporting an overall record of 9-11, 4-5 in Northeast Conference Play. The Knights opened league action winning three of their first four matchups before dropping their next four. On Saturday, FDU picked up a huge 55-53 overtime win over Central Connecticut State.

The Knights are led by Danielle Pankey and Erika Livermore who each average over 14 points per contest. Livermore also leads her team in rebounding, averaging 11.7 per game, ranking her one of the best rebounders in the NEC. Amanda Andrades runs the show for FDU, averaging 3.9 assists per game to go alone with her 3.2 ppg and 3.3 rpg.

Fairleigh Dickinson averages 55.2 points per contest while shooting a 33 percent clip from the field. The Knights do a great job at taking care of the basketball, allowing just 18 turnovers per game.

UP NEXT

The Bulldogs will return home for a pair of contests beginning with Sacred Heart, Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first leg of a doubleheader at the Chace Athletic Center.
