ON TAP AT THE CHACE ATHLETIC CENTER

The Bryant University women's basketball will look to snap a two-game skid as they welcome intrastate rival Brown to the Chace Athletic Center, Wednesday evening. Tip is set for 7 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY

This will mark the sixth all-time meeting between Bryant and Brown, with the Bears holding a slight, 3-2, advantage in the series. The two schools have faced off in each of Bryant's first five seasons as a Division I institution with Brown taking the first three contests by an average of just 5.6 points. However, the Bulldogs have picked up victories in the last two showdowns by an average margin of  19 points.

Last season in Providence, the Black and Gold exploded for 81 points in their first win of the 2012-13 season. Holding Brown to just 58 points in the contest, seniors Courtney Schissler (Branford, Conn.) and Naana Ankoma-Mensa (Brampton, Ont.) combined for 31 points and 21 rebounds in the W.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

Tabbed to finish seventh in the 2013-14 Preseason Ivy League Poll, Brown is led by junior guard Sophie Bikofsky who currently averages 19.5 points and 4 rebounds in 31 minutes per contest. Sophomore wing Jordin Alexander and senior point guard Lauren Clarke round out the double-digit scorers for the Bears at 12 pgg and 11.5 ppg, respectively. Clarke, who averages just over 30 mpg, also leads her team in assists at 4.5 apg, while classmate Sophie Beutel leads Brown in rebounding with 5.5 rpg.
