Women's hoops closes non-league play at Columbia Monday

The Bryant University women's basketball will wrap up non-conference action with a trip to Columbia on Monday, Dec. 30. Both teams will look to head into 2014 on a high-note, with each squad currently riding a two-game win streak, the longest of the season for both Bryant and Columbia.

SERIES HISTORY

Monday marks the 3rd all-time meeting between the two schools dating back to 2011 with the series tied at one game apiece. Last season in Smithfi eld, Bryant picked up a 68-54 win over the Lions thanks to a monster 17 points/17 rebound game from senior forward Naana Ankoma-Mensa.

Monday also marks Bryant's fourth meeting against an Ivy League opponent this season, in which the

Bulldogs hold a 1-2 mark through three games this season.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

Columbia enters Monday's action with a 3-9 overall record, currently riding a two-game win streak with wins over Kennesaw State on Dec. 21 and Lehigh on Saturday. Carolyn Binder leads the Lions with just under 12 points per game, while Miwa Tachibana sits at 10.7 ppg in 30 minutes per contest.

Tori Oliver and Taylor Ward round out Columbia's leading scorers with 9.9 ppg and 9.2 ppg, while Courtney Bradford's 5.5 rebounds per game and Ward's 3.75 assists per game rank first on the Ivy League foe's leaderboard.
