The Bryant University women's basketball team continues Northeast Conference play when it hosts St. Francis Brooklyn, Monday eveningin Smithfield, R.I. Both teams enter the contest with an NEC-best 4-1 record.
The Bulldogs welcome the Terriers winner's of 7 of their last eight, including two in-a-ro, while St. Francis boasts an NEC-best 5-3 record away from home.
SERIES HISTORY
Monday marks the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools with Bryant boasting a 6-1 overall record against the Terriers. However, last season St. Francis picked up a convincing 68-57 victory in Smithfield despite 18 points from Jenniqua Bailey (Bloomfield, Conn.).
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
St. Francis Brooklyn enters Monday's contest with a 13-3 overall record, 4-1 in the Northeast Conference (three-way time for first with Bryant and Robert Morris). After a tough double overtime loss at Mount St. Mary's on Jan. 13, the Terriers rebounded with a dominating victory over Sacred Heart, 69-49, on Saturday.
Eilidh Simpson leads the team with 14.3 point sper game and 4.1 rebounds per game while Jaymee Veney adds 11.7 ppg and a team-best 6.9 rpg. Sarah Benedetti rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.5 ppg, while Jasmin Robinson leads St. Francis with 3.1 assists per contest.
