ON TAP AT THE WILLIAM H. PITT CENTER

The Bryant University women's basketball team continues its three-game Northeast Conference road tilt when it heads to Fairfield, Conn., for a showdown with Sacred Heart, Monday night at 7 p.m.

This marks the second of three-straight road games for the Bulldogs before they head back to Smithfield for six of their next seven in Smithfield.

SERIES HISTORY

Monday is the 10th Division I meeting (18th all-time) between the Bulldogs and Pioneers with Sacred Heart holding a perfect 9-0 series lead over the Black and Gold. In the Division II era, Bryant went 7-1 against the Pioneers, but is still in search of its first win vs. the familiar foe at the DI level.

Last season, Sacred Heart dominated its two matchups with Bryant, winning by and average margin on 13 points despite a pair of double-double outputs from Naana Ankoma-Mensa.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS

Sacred Heart enters Monday's showdown with an 8-10 overall record, 5-2 in the Northeast Conference (tied with Bryant for second place). After a difficult non-conference slate, the Pioneers have won six of their last eight games, including two in-a-row, picking up wins over Central Connecticut and Wagner in the past week.

Led by junior guard and NEC Preseason Pick Gabriell Washington's 17.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, the Pioneers boast a balanced lineup with 11 players averaging more than 10 minutes per contest. Junior guard Katie Shepard ranks second in scoring with 8.8 ppg and leads the team with 3.3 assists per game, while freshman guard Adaysha Williams puts up 8.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 2.4 apg.
