ON TAP AT THE CHACE ATHLETIC CENTER

The Bryant women's basketball team welcomes Central Connecticut State University for the first game of a Bulldog doubleheader, starting at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The Black and Gold will look to get back on track after dropping three of their last four.

SERIES HISTORY

Saturday's showdown will be the ninth all-time meeting between the two schools with Central Connecticut holding a 6-4 advantage in the series. The Blue Devils have also secured victories in their last three meetings vs. Bryant including a pair of convincing wins a season ago. The Bulldogs last defeated CCSU on Dec. 28, 2011, 68-62, in their final year before becoming Division I postseason eligible.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS

Central Connecticut enters Saturday's contest with a 9-11 overall record, 3-7 in the Northeast Conference. After starting off league playing on the strong note, the Blue Devils have struggled as of late, dropping three in-a-row to move them into a tie for 7th place in the NEC. Most recently, CCSU dropped a tough one at Mount St. Mary's Monday night, 69-55, despite a combined 36 points from seniors Lauren Arbogast and Jessica Babe.

Babe leads her team in almost every statistical category including points (13.2), rebounds (6.4), assists (4.3) and steals (2.4), while Arbogast is the only other double-digit scorers with 11.1 points per game. Junior guard Kaley Watras, one of the best 3-point shooters in the NEC, chips in 9.1 ppg and shoots better than 40 percent from behind the 3-point arc (second in the NEC).
