ON TAP AT THE CHACE ATHLETIC CENTER

The Bryant University women's basketball team welcomes Mount St. Mary's to Smithfield for a 2 p.m. showdown that is sure to have major postseason implications for both teams. Entering the contest, Mount sits one game ahead of the Bulldogs in the Northeast Conference standings who can clinch a postseason spot for the second consecutive year with a win on Monday.

SERIES HISTORY

Saturday marks the ninth all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and Mountaineers with Mount St. Mary's holding a commanding 6-2 series lead.

Earlier this season in Emmitsburg, Md., a monster 30-point performance from Jenniqua Bailey wasn't enough to life the Bulldogs past The Mount's two-headed monster of Sydney Henderson and Jacqueline Brewer as the Mountaineers squeaked out an 84-79 overtime victory.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS

Mount St. Mary's enters Monday's contest with a 14-11 overall mark, 9-4 in the Northeast Conference. The Mount is just one of two teams (Robert Morris) to have already clinched a spot in the NEC Tournament, currently sitting in second place overall. After somewhat of a pedestrian start to league place, the Mountaineers have won six of their last seven, including four in a row. Most recently, The Mount topped Sacred Heart, 76-63, Saturday afternoon in Fairfield, Conn.

Henderson, a Preseason All-NEC pick, leads the team with 18 points (fifth in NEC) and 5.4 rebounds in over 37 minutes per game (second in NEC). Junior guard Jacqueline Brewer ranks second on the team with 11 ppg in 25 mpg, while senior guard Ashley Christie leads the team with four assists per contest.

The Mountaineer's 69.6 ppg ranks third in the NEC behind only Saint Francis U. and Bryant, while their 71.2 ppg allowed is sixth in the league.
