The Bryant University women's basketball team will look to pick up its stay in contention for a top spot in the Northeast Conference when it welcomes league-leading Robert Morris to Smithfield on Saturday for 1 p.m. showdown on ESPN3.

SERIES HISTORY

This will mark the ninth all-time meeting between the two schools with the Colonials holding a commanding 6-2 record against the Bulldogs dating back to the 2008-09 season.

Earlier this year, Robert Morris picked up a hard-earned, 84-73, victory over Bryant thanks 26 points, 19 rebounds and five assists from reigning NEC Player of the Year Artemis Spanou. The Black and Gold last beat the Colonials in the 2012-13 regular season finale, 61-56, in overtime.

SCOUTING THE COLONIALS

Robert Morris enters Saturday's contest with a 16-9 overall mark, 12-2 in the Northeast Conference. The NEC leaders have won 11 of their last 12, including four in-a-row, most recently topping LIU Brooklyn, 79-43, in convincing fashion.

Senior forward Artemis Spanou leads the team with 18.9 points per game (2nd in NEC), a whopping 15 rebounds per game (tops in the NEC, second in the country) and 3.8 assists per game (7th in NEC). Freshman guard Anna Niki Stamolamprou ranks second on the team with 12.1 ppg, while sophomore guard Ashley Ravelli puts up just under 10 ppg.

As a team, the Colonials average just over 69 ppg (4th in NEC) and allow 63 ppg for the best scoring margin in the league. RMU is also near the top in almost every rebounding category, posting a +7.2 rebounding margin, which ranks second in the league behind only the Bulldogs.
