SMITHFIELD, R.I - The Bryant University women's basketball team is set to face the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson in a Northeast Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center.

THE SERIES
The Bulldogs are 16-9 all-time against the Knights coming into Saturday's matchup. FDU defeated the Black and Gold 53-47 and 64-58 in their doubleheader series last season. Brooke Bjelko led Bryant in scoring for both games with 17 and 23 points.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
FDU comes to Smithfield with a 6-7 overall record, and a conference record of 3-0. The Knights recently defeated Merrimack 76-65 in double overtime. Dahomee Forgues led the way for the Knights with 24 points. FDU had two other double-digit scorers in the game. Chloe Wilson had 19, and Madison Stanley posted 16.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • Shannon O'Connor scored a career-high 17 points on Thursday against Wagner. O'Connor shot 6-12 from the field and added eight rebounds to her stat sheet. She has now registered three double-digit scoring games this season.
  • Fatou Jallow has scored 13, 19, and 12 in the last three games. During this stretch, Jallow has 11 assists and is 5-11 from deep.
  • Brooke Bjelko posted 11 points versus Wagner. Bjelko has hit double figures in 10 of 14 games played this year. She leads the NEC in points (174) and field goal percentage with 46.5%.
  • The Bulldogs are 9-4 all-time against the Knights at the Chace Athletic Center.
  • Bryant has totaled 531 rebounds as a team this season. That mark leads the conference and ranks 68th nationally. The Black and Gold also have a rebounding margin of +4.4, which leads the NEC, and is top-100 in the nation.
