Dawgs begin two-game road trip Thursday against CCSU

NEW BRITAIN, CONN. - The Bryant University women's basketball team begins their two-game road trip on Thursday against the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut for a seven o'clock tip-off.

THE SERIES
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 15-10 against the Blue Devils and trail 5-7 in New Britain. The Black and Gold defeated CCSU 60-53 earlier in the season at the Chace Athletic Center. Brooke Bjelko led the team in scoring with 19 points.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS 
The Blue Devils head into Thursday's matchup with a 4-16 overall record and a conference record of 2-9. CCSU won their most recent matchup 75-66 against Merrimack on Friday. Dejah Jenkings was top on the team with 18 points. Ashley Berube tallied 17 Belle Lampher recorded 15, and Meghan Kenefick. 

WHAT TO KNOW

  • Fatou Jallow tallied 13 points in the win against Sacred Heart. She has now recorded 13 points in three consecutive games and is averaging a career-high 7.3 ppg.
  • Nicole Gallagher posted a season-high 18 points versus the Pioneers and shot 4-5 from deep. Gallagher has made multiple three-pointers in nine games this season.
  • The Bulldogs are shooting 35.8% from beyond the arc, which ranks second in the NEC and 28th in the country. The Black and Gold have shot at least 60% from three in four games this year.
  • Bjelko recorded a 12 point 10 rebound performance versus SHU. This was her sixth double-double of the season and the 19th of her career.
  • Mariona Planes Fortuny tallied her second 10+ rebounding effort of the season. Bryant has totaled 880 rebounds as of today, which leads the NEC.
