Bulldogs lose close one to SFBK at home
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Brooke Bjelko and Alana Perkins of the Bryant University women's basketball team scored 17 points in the home loss to St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday night.
Mariona Planes Fortuny had a 10 point, 13 rebounds double-double, and Fatou Jallow posted 10 points and eight assists.

How it Happened
- SFC came out strong in the first quarter doubling Bryant's total 20-10 after the quarter. Bjelko posted four, Fortuny had two, Lucie Castagne recorded two, and Jallow posted two.
- The Terriers got it to a 30-12 deficit with seven minutes remaining, and then the Black and Gold outscored SFC 18-9, shrinking the lead to nine (39-30) at the end of the half. The Bulldog run was capped off by four straight three-pointers from Perkins and Jallow, hitting two each.
- Perkins posted eight, Jallow had six, Castagne, Kemari Reynolds, and Juliette Golden registered two points.
- Bryant got the lead down to five with a layup and three-pointer from Fortuny and Perkins in the first minute of the second half (40-35). Both teams scored nine points for the remainder of the third, keeping the deficit at five going into the final period.
- The Bulldogs earned an 11-9 edge with five minutes reaming, resulting in a 63-30 lead for SFC. Bjelko made a layup, followed by a Perkins triple, giving Bryant a 65-63 edge with two minutes remaining. The Terriers responded with a three-pointer, and Bjelko went 1-2 from the charity stripe, tying the game at 66 with 1:05 left in regulation. SFC would then score four more points and hold the Bulldogs to zero resulting in a 70-66 defeat for the Black and Gold.
