Bryant to face #1 FDU on Thursday in NEC Semi-Finals

HACKENSACK, N.J. - The number seven seeded Bryant University women's basketball team heads to New Jersey to face the number-one seeded Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson in the Northeast Conference semi-finals on Thursday night.

THE SERIES
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 17-10 and are 7-5 on the road against FDU. Bryant fell to the Knights 58-52 in their most recent meeting in New Jersey. Fatou Jallow and Brooke Bjelko led the team with 12 points.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
The Knights come into Thursday's game with a 19-10 overall record and a 15-3 conference record. FDU is 12-3 at home and defeated Sacred Heart in the quarterfinals 66-58. Aniya Bell led the way with 20 points. NEC Player of the Year Madison Stanley posted 19.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • The Black and Gold picked up their first playoff victory since 2016 when they defeated St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday in the NEC Quarterfinals. Bryant was the only road team to win in the first round.
  • The hero of Monday's win, Mariona Planes Fortuny, registered her 15th double-digit scoring effort with 17 points. Fortuny is averaging career-highs in ppg (9.8), mpg (27.8), and reb/g with 6.4.
  • Nicole Gallagher led the team in scoring and rebounding with a 19 point and 12 rebounds double-double performance versus SFC. This performance was the second time Gallagher has led the team in scoring and the eighth time in rebounding.
  • All-NEC, second-team member Brooke Bjelko, has recorded 10+ points in all but one of the Bulldogs victories this season.
  • Kemari Reynolds tied her season-high in rebounds with three against the Terriers. Reynolds has reached this mark three times this season.
