Reynolds' double-double lifts Bulldogs past UNH at home

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Kemari Reynolds tallied a double-double in the Bryant University women's basketball team's 55-54 home victory against New Hampshire on Saturday.

Reynolds got the critical rebound on the final play to secure the victory, Mariona Planes Fortuny had 17 points, and Mia Mancini recorded 11 points.

  • UNH responded with four points, and the Bulldogs countered with a Lucie Castagne breakaway layup, and Fortuny hit two at the line (44-39).
  • Mancini then drilled a three with a minute left to make the score 44-42 in favor of UNH heading into the fourth.
  • Both teams tallied two with eight minutes remaining, and then Mancini drilled a three to give the Bulldogs a 47-46 lead.
  • The Black and Gold scored four, which then was answered with a UNH jump shot before Castagne hit a pull-up mid-range to give Bryant a 53-48 lead with three and a half remaining in the game.
  • UNH then scored a quick four, and then Fortuny hit a free-throw, making the score 54-42 in favor of the Bulldogs with one-thirty left.
  • With thirty-six seconds left, the Wildcats hit a mid-range jumper to tie the game at 54.
  • Then, with six seconds off an inbounds play, Fortuny was fouled on the shot, putting her at the line for two.
  • Fortuny went 1-2, making the score 55-54 and possession to the Wildcats.
  • UNH then missed a shot, and Reynolds wrestled down the rebound to secure the victory for Bryant.
