Mancini named AE Rookie of the Year; Three named All-Conference

BOSTON, MASS. - Mia Mancini of the Bryant University women's basketball team was named the America East Rookie of the Year and also made the All-America East Rookie and Third teams. Mariona Planes Fortuny earned a spot on the All-America East First Team, and Nia Scott made the All-America East Rookie Team.

Mancini finished the regular season averaging 13.6 ppg, 33% from the field, and 36.5% from deep. Mancini ranked first in the conference in 3PM (73), 3PPG (2.52), and 3PA with 200. She becomes the first player in DI program history to earn an award while being put on two teams and is the first ROTY winner since 2015.

Fortuny was named to the first team for the first time in her career. Fortuny averaged a career-high 16.5 ppg and shot a career-best 30% from the three-point line. She also posted career highs in reb/g (6.6), ast/g (2.8), and stl/g with 1.0. Fortuny had 11 20+ point performances this season, and in conference play averaged 16.9 ppg, 6.9 RPG and shot 76% from the line, 47.4% from the field, and 34.5% from the field. She is currently fourth in scoring in DI program history at 1,270.

Scott was named to the rookie team after averaging 6.8 ppg and 6.4 rpg. This season, she had three double-doubles, five 10+ rebounding games, and eight double-figure scoring games. Scott started 26 games for the Bulldogs and ranks 10th in RPG during conference play with 3.9 RPG.
