Mester and Thompson earn ECC Weekly Honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Brianna Mester and Maggie Thompson of the Bryant University women's bowling team were named the ECC Bowler and Rookie of the Week by the organization on Thursday.

Mester helped her team gain two wins at the New England Cup against fellow conference member Saint Anselm, leading her team to finish 3rd overall. She averaged 175 during qualifying, with an overall fill percentage of 78%. During the singles portion, Brianna posted a 242 game to help her finish in the top ten individually for the day.

Thompson gave the best showing for the Bulldogs at the New England Cup, averaging 184 for qualifying with an overall fill percentage of 85%. Maggie also had a single-pin spare conversion of 100%. 

This is the first time that both players have earned a weekly award.
