Bulldogs place 2nd at ECC Championships.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Bryant University women's bowling team earned second place at the ECC Championships, falling short to Mercyhurst in the championship round.

The Bulldogs qualified for the overall one seed after Friday's competition.

 

Friday

  • On Friday, the Black and Gold went 2-2.
  • Bryant defeated Daemen 943-850 and Kutztown 906-845.
  • The Bulldogs had the highest total score, posting a 4,741 mark.
  • Hayden Smith led the way with an average of 20.00
  • Abby Unson, Jen Lyon, Laura Clark, and Olivia Hillman posted an 18+ average.

Saturday

  • The Black and Gold fell in the first game on Saturday.
  • The Bulldogs then went 3-0 in elimination games to advance Sunday for a chance at the finals.
  • Bryant defeated Roberts Wesleyan (4-0), Molloy (4-0), and Kutztown 4-2.
  • Smith was the top scorer with 19.63.

Sunday

  • Bryant defeated D'Youville 4-0 in the first match on Sunday, setting up a Championship match with Mercyhurst.
  • The Bulldogs fell to Merychurst 2-0, by scores of 963-894 and 966-937.
  • Lyon, Snith, and Clark posted averages of 21.56, 21.50 and 20.35.
