Bio

HEALY ON RETTINGER: In her first season, Nicole is expected to play a major role on defense. We will rely on her tough 1-on-1 defense and her hard-working, aggressive attitude.

In the record books: Rettinger walked not just onto the team, but into the record books after just a single season donning the Black and Gold... SINGLE-GAME RECORDS: tied for fourth in caused turnovers (6 vs. Columbia, March 26, 2010); tied for sixth in draw controls (6 vs. Boston College, Feb. 20, 2010); tied for seventh in caused turnovers (5 at Quinnipiac, March 13, 2010; at Presbyterian, March 9, 2010)... SINGLE-SEASON RECORDS: third in caused turnovers per game (2.06, 2010); fourth in caused turnovers (33, 2010).

2010: Only freshman to start all 16 games... Named to the 2010 All-Northeast Conference First Team as well as the All-Rookie Team, earning Bryant's first women's lacrosse NEC honor... Walked onto the team as a rookie and quickly become one of the Bulldogs' most integral members, as well as one of the league's top rookie talents and premier defenders... Only freshman in the NEC to earn all-conference accolades... Averaged a league- and team-best 2.06 caused turnovers per game, pacing the Bulldogs with 33 on the year... Also led the Black and Gold with 27 draw controls... Second on the team with 46 ground balls, averaging 2.88 per game, good for third in the NEC rankings... Picked up six ground balls on two occasions (at Siena, at Presbyterian).. Picked up a ground ball and caused a turnover in 14-of-16 contests on the year... Earned six draw controls in collegiate debut and season opener against Boston College... Cuased six turnovers at home vs. Columbia.

Before Bryant: A 2009 graduate of Half Hollow Hills High School West, Rettinger was a two-sport athlete who lettered in basketball and lacrosse... Received all-division, team MVP and Academic All-American honors as a senior.

Personal: Born on January 18, 1991... Daughter of Bob and Lisa Rettinger... Has one sister, Christa... Plans to study communications in the College of Arts and Sciences.
