As a freshman: One of just three rookies to start all 16
games in 2011 ... The Bulldogs' top midfielder and one of the top
midfielders in the Northeast Conference ... Led the team with 30
draw control wins ... Finished second on the squad in ground balls,
with 35, and caused turnovers, with 14 ... Tied for third in
points, with 25 on the year ... Finished her rookie campaign fourth
on the team in goals (21) and assists (4), as well ... Scored at
least one goal in 11 contests with points in 13 ... Recorded a pair
of hat tricks, including a career-high four tallies in a 14-11 win
over Wagner on the road on April 21 ... Notched the game-winning

Before Bryant: A 2010 graduate of Newtown High School, Vendel was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Nighthawks ... Led team to three-straight South West Conference Championships ... Two-time team MVP (2008, 2009) ... Two-time High School All-American ... Named first-team all-state selection as a junior and senior ... Earned a spot on the Connecticut Super Juniors team ... Also a member of Newtown's field hockey team, where she earned second team all-state honors as a senior ...
