Women look for back-to-back wins Sat.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Just three days after earning its first win of the 2012 season, the Bryant University women's lacrosse team looks to make it back-to-back victories as the Bulldogs travel to Siena College for a 1 p.m. game Saturday afternoon in Loudonville, N.Y.

The Saints (1-6) are also coming off their first victory of the year, and both Siena and Bryant (1-4) earned its lone win against the same opponent in Presbyterian College. Siena defeated the Blue Hose, 15-12, Monday, just two days before the Bulldogs scored a season-high 17 en route to a 17-8 victory.

The Saints offense features a trio of double-digit goal scorers, with Deirdre McQuillan leading the way with 19. McQuillan also paces the team in both assists (5) and points (24), while Michelle Andreo's 14 goals and Kristin McMillan's 11 are close behind.

Kristin Concordia has been steady in goal for Siena, starting all seven contests and entering the game with a .307 save percentage and 16.69 goals against average in over 400 minutes in net. Concordia has 17 ground balls on the season, just one behind team-leader Amanda Corso, who also has a side-best 16 draw controls with six caused turnovers. Concordia also has eight forced giveaways on the year, a team high.

The Bulldogs will counter with an offensive unit that has been gaining steam over the past several contests, a group headlined by senior Lauren Sheridan (Bethpage, N.Y.). The attacker has 11 goals and an assist in 2012, while sophomore stud Haley Bloom (Hauppauge, N.Y.) ties Sheridan for the team lead with 12 points off 10 goals and a pair of assists.

Second-year Bulldogs Katherine Keckeisen (Danbury, Conn.) and Lisa Vendel (Sandy Hook, Conn.) represent the leaders of a strong supporting cast, following the duo with six points apiece off five and four goals, respectively, while nine Bryant players have at least a single score on the year.

Between the pipes, four-year starter and senior captain Lauren Filippone (West Babylon, N.Y.) has had a career season so far in 2012, posting 59 saves and a .532 save percentage. She has played all 300 minutes for the Black and Gold and has a 10.40 goals against average.

Filippone and junior defender Nicole Rettinger (Dix Hills, N.Y.) pace the Bulldog side with 15 ground balls apiece, while the latter has 11 of the team's 34 caused turnovers on the year.
