BRYANT LOOKS FOR SECOND-STRAIGHT WIN TUESDAY VS. SOUTHERN CAL AT BRYANT TURF COMPLEX

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Coming off a big win at Stetson over Spring Break week, the Bryant University women's lacrosse team will welcome the University of Southern California to The Bryant Turf Complex, Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The Bulldogs (2-3) will look to string a pair of wins together for the first time this season, while the Trojans (5-5, 2-1 Pac-12) have had some great success in their first year as a Division I program.

Wednesday in Deland, Fla., the Black and Gold jumped out to a 7-0 advantage through the first 30 minutes against Stetson as the balanced Bryant attack saw eight different Bulldogs find the back of the net en route to a 13-6 victory over the Hatters.

Junior Lisa Vendel (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and Kimberley Sniffen (Redding, Conn.) sit atop the Bryant points leaderboard notching 13 and 12 points, respectively. Sniffen leads the Bulldogs with 11 goals while classmate Haley Bloom (Hauppauge, N.Y.) paces the Black and Gold with 4 assists. Junior Brianna Watt (Babylon, N.Y.) has logged all but seven minutes in goal this season for Bryant, allowing just under 11 goals per contest and stopping nearly 47 percent of the oppositions shot attempts.

The Trojans come to Smithfield looking for their second-straight win as well after defeating Marquette, 12-9, Saturday in Los Angeles. Despite being in its first year as a Division I program, Southern Cal has put together a solid season, including a strong showing against #18 Stanford on March 8. USC is led by freshman Caroline de Lyra who has amassed a whopping 61 points on 33 goals and 28 assists through just 10 games. Classmates Amanda Johansen, Paige Bonomi and Caroline Cordrey rank two through four on USC with 32, 27 and 27 points, respectively. Freshman Liz Shaeffer handles most of the netminding duties for the Trojans, posting an 11.91 goals against average in 10 starts.
