Bulldogs look for fourth-straight victory at UMass Lowell Monday (4 p.m.)

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's lacrosse team looks to extend its winning streak to four straight Monday on the road against UMass Lowell at 4:00 p.m.

The Bulldogs (5-2) are back on the field following an eight-day hiatus after returning from a two-game California road trip in which they defeated Fresno State, 14-9, and UC Davis, 13-10. Sophomore attack Emily Columbus (East Northport, N.Y.) and junior attack Lauren Descalzo (Hauppauge, N.Y.) have been stellar during the team's current three-game winning streak with 14 and 11 points respectively, pacing the Bulldog offense.

The duo of Columbus and Descalzo has led the Bulldogs all season, accounting for 42 of the team's 78 goals scored. Columbus leads the team with 29 points (19 goals, 10 assists) on the year, with Descalzo close behind at 27 points (23g, 4a). Also pitching in on offense is junior attack Nicole Britton (Monmouth Beach, N.J.), who is second on the team in assists (9) and third in goals (11) and is the only other Bulldog to post double-digit points (20) on the young 2015 campaign. The Bulldogs' offense altogether ranks third in the NEC at 11.14 goals per game.

Freshman goalkeepers Samantha Santeramo (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Daja Andrews (Lumberton, N.J.) have split time in cage this season, posting a team 8.43 goals against average to lead the NEC in that category. The pair is also second in the league with a combined save percentage of .468. Santeramo has been the choice as of late for head coach Jill Batcheller, earning the last three starts and a 3-1 record on the season. She posts a .446 save percentage, good for second in the NEC, and leads the conference with a 9.26 goals against average.

The Bulldogs are also led defensively by sophomore defender Molly Martin (Island Park, N.Y.). She leads the team with 15 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers and is a key reason why the Bulldogs have the league's top-ranked defense.

The River Hawks (0-8) enter Monday's contest seeking the program's first win after losing the opening eight of their inaugural season. UMass Lowell is led by two freshmen on offense in Jesse Jay and Taylor Sokol. Jay leads the team with nine goals and five assists, and Sokol is second with seven goals and three helpers.

Freshman Courtney Barrett has started all eight games in net for the River Hawks and enters Monday's clash with a 15.46 goals against average and .431 save percentage. Barrett leads the team with 31 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers on the year.
