Breglia selected as NEC's Co-Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After a week of averaging six points per game, sophomore Caitlin Breglia (Long Beach, N.Y.) was named Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Breglia scored five goals and an assist in each of the Black and Gold's games this week that included a victory over UMass Lowell on Wednesday afternoon. The sophomore became just the second Bulldog in Bryant's Division I history to score five goals in three consecutive games, joining teammate junior Jess DeMeo (Mount Sinai, N.Y.).

Since March 9, Breglia has jumped 73 spots in the national rankings in goals per game and 45 spots, into the NCAA Top 10, in points per game. She's scoring 3.63 goals per game, scoring 21 in her last five, and is recording 5.38 points per game, which also leads the NEC.

This is Breglia's first Player of the Week honor from the NEC, and four third overall weekly honor after winning three Rookie of the Week awards last season en route to Rookie of the Year and First Team accolades.

Bryant's non-conference season concludes on Saturday afternoon when they go to Albany, N.Y. for a 4:00 p.m. bout with Siena.
