DeMeo tabbed as NEC Co-Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University women's lacrosse senior Jess DeMeo (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) has been selected as Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending April 7, as announced Monday by the conference office.

DeMeo scored a conference-best 10 goals and added an assist in a 2-0 weekend for the Bulldogs to open NEC play. The senior from Long Island scored six goals in a 20-8 victory Friday at Sacred Heart before contributing four second-half goals and an assist in Sunday's 14-7 win over LIU Brooklyn.

The 10 goals increased DeMeo's conference-leading total to 37 for the year. Friday's six-goal output was DeMeo's sixth career game of six or more goals.

Sophomore Giana Kapoosuzian (Merrick, N.Y.) was also honored by the NEC as a Prime Performer. Kapoosuzian held opponents to a 7.50 goals-against average on the weekend.

Bryant takes on Central Connecticut under the lights at Beirne Stadium Friday night. Tickets for the 7 p.m. opening draw can be purchased HERE and the game can be seen on NEC Front Row.
