Bryant to finish third in preseason poll

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Northeast Conference announced Tuesday that the Bryant University women's lacrosse team was picked to finish third by the conference's head coaches.

The defending NEC Champions from 2019, Wagner, earned six first-place votes followed by Mount St. Mary's with three. LIU, Saint Francis, Sacred Heart, Merrimack, and Central Connecticut trailed Bryant to round out the eight-team poll.

Bryant was only able to fit in six games before the season was cut short in 2020. The Bulldogs posted a record of 4-2 with wins over Quinnipiac, Vermont, Manhattan, and UMass Lowell and were unable to reach the conference schedule. The last time Bryant met with an NEC foe was in 2019 when the Bulldogs went 4-3 and fell to Mount St. Mary's in the conference semi-final. The 2021 season kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 27 when Bryant hosts Holy Cross for a 4 p.m. meeting.
