Bulldogs Fall To UNH in Overtime

DURHAM, N.H.- The Bryant women's lacrosse team fell to New Hampshire in overtime on Wednesday afternoon in Durham. The 13-12 loss was their first OT game of the season. Alexa Weber led the Bulldogs with three goals and two assists, while Amelia Piercy recorded her first career hat trick.

How it Happened

Q1: New Hampshire scored the first two goals of the game, but the Bulldogs responded with a 5-0 run to end the period. Kenna Kaut scored two of Bryant's goals in the period.

Q2: Bryant extended its run to six straight goals when Amelia Piercy found the back of the net to start the second. She would score again later in the period as the Bulldogs maintained a three goal lead going into halftime.

Q3: Weber and Piercy each scored their third goals of the game in the third period, but UNH rattled off six straight goals to take a 12-10 lead at the end of the period.

Q4: The Bryant defense ramped up in the fourth, shutting out the Wildcats. Chamberlaine Bell added some offense, scoring twice to tie the game, while Sam Centofante saved all three shots she saw in the quarter.

OT: New Hampshire won in overtime on a goal with six seconds left on the clock.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Alexa Weber set season highs with three goals and five total points. Her two assists tied a season high, set last week against Quinnipiac.

  • Kenna Kaut's two goals raised her season total to a team leading 17. She and Skylar Simmonds are the only two players in the NEC averaging at least three goals per game this season.

  • Cassidy Burns had four assists, raising her team and conference leading total to 16.

  • Bryant once again dominated the draws, controlling 21 of 29 taken in the game.

The Bulldogs will be off until March 26, when they return home to open Northeast Conference play against Mount St. Mary's. The game is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Beirne Stadium.
