Bryant Hosting LIU in NEC Semifinals

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's lacrosse team will host Long Island in the opening game of the Northeast Conference tournament on Thursday afternoon in Smithfield. The Bulldogs are hosting the 2022 tournament as the top seed and will take on the fourth seeded Sharks in the semifinals.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Kenna Kaut enters the NEC tournament as the league's leader in goals, scoring an average of 3.40 per game. She became the sixth player in D-I program history to score fifty goals in a season with her two in the season finale at Wagner.

  • Cassidy Burns broke Bryant's all-time assist record with her first helper in the Wagner game. She closed the regular season with 52 assists, the most in the NEC and second most in the country.

  • Bryant enters the postseason as the NEC's top seed and regular season co-champion with a 7-1 conference record. The Bulldogs will be playing in their ninth consecutive NEC tournament and will look to advance to the conference title game for the seventh time.

  • A win tomorrow would be the 200th win in the team's history. They are 199-141 (.585) since their first season in 2002.

Scouting the Sharks

  • LIU enters the tournament as the #4 seed with a 5-3 record in the NEC (6-11 overall). The Sharks ended the conference season on a four game winning streak to clinch the fourth and final playoff spot.

  • Player to Watch: Grad student midfielder Amanda Masullo is second on the team in with 28 goals and 12 caused turnovers, and is the team leader with 61 draw controls.
