How it Happened

Q1: The Bulldogs opened a low-scoring first quarter with a Riley O'Mara goal at the 10:38 mark, but UAlbany responded less than 20 seconds later to tie the score. The final goal of the quarter came courtesy of Kaut, who found the net on a woman-down opportunity at the 6:54 mark. Bryant's defense held strong throughout the opening period, allowing only three shots on net.

Q2: The scoring ramped up in the second, as the Great Danes ripped off a 3-0 run in the first nine minutes. Bryant finally got on the board in the quarter with an Oliver goal at the 6:56 mark, followed shortly after by another UAlbany free-position score. With the Bulldogs down two, Kaut and Oliver combined on three goals over the final six minutes to send Bryant into the half with a one-goal lead.

Q3: The Bulldogs extended the lead to three thanks to Chamberlaine Bell's first goal of the day at the 9:36 mark of the third, but the game of runs continued with three in a row by UAlbany over the next five minutes. The final 90 seconds of the quarter saw the two teams trade goals, with a Lily Auger free-position goal tying the score at nine heading into the final 15.

Q4: Both defenses ramped up in the fourth, as the Bulldogs and Great Danes combined for just eleven shots and nine shots on goal. UAlbany was able to convert on two in a row between the 11:33 and 9:48 marks before Kaut's fourth and final goal cut the lead to one with just over two minutes to play. Bryant had a chance to tie the game on the final possession, but UAlbany forced a turnover to clinch the victory.
