STONY BROOK, NY - The Bryant University women's lacrosse team were taken down by the #11 ranked Stony Brook on Saturday by a score of 17-3.

How it Happened

Quarter 1: The Seawolves came out in full force and outscored Bryant 7-1.
Quarter 2: The Black and Gold defense buckled down in the second quarter and only allowed three goals. They also added another tally to bring the score to 10-2.
Quarter 3: The third quarter was a repeat of the third scoring wise with Stony Brook taking the edge, 3-1.
Quarter 4: The Bulldogs held Stony Brook to only one goal in the first 11 minutes in the quarter. The Seawolves ended the game however on a three goal run in the last four minutes to bring the score to 17-3.

Notes and Notables

  • Kenna Kaut and Amelia Piercy both had a goal and an assist to their names on the afternoon.
  • Emily DeGeorge scored Bryant's third goal from a free position shot in the third quarter.
  • Freshman Kaelynn O'Brien had three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
  • Fellow freshman Elise Larsen led the way on the draw control for the Bulldogs with three.
  • The Seawolves had the advantage in shots 34-9, draw controls 16-7, and ground balls 18-14.
  • Sam Centofante made nine saves in goal for the Black and Gold.
