Centofante earns third weekly honor of the season

BOSTON - Senior goaltender Sam Centofante earned America East Defensive Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference on Monday morning.

Centofante takes the honor after earning victory over UMBC to open conference play on Saturday. In the game, the Valley Forge, Pennsylvania native made 10 saves and allowed just 10 goals for a .500 save percentage. Centofante made six saves and only allowed three goals in the second half to help the Bulldogs shut the door on UMBC. She also picked up four ground balls in the affair.

This is Centofante's third weekly honor of the season and fifth of her career.
