Black and Gold's season comes to a close with loss to Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Bryant University women's lacrosse team's 2024 season came to an end on Saturday as they fell to Binghamton, 20-8.

The loss in combination with UMass Lowell's victory over Vermont knocked the Bulldogs out of the America East playoffs.

How it Happened

Quarter 1: Bryant struck first in the game thanks to a Riley O'Mara goal. However, it would be the only time the Black and Gold had the lead for the rest of the game.Binghamton outscored the Bulldogs 5-1 for the remainder of the quarter.
Quarter 2: Kenna Kaut opened up the scoring in the second to draw the Bulldogs within two. Binghamton matched Bryant punch for punch in the period though and the teams ended the quarter adding three goals a piece to their tallies.
Quarter 3: The third quarter was all Binghamton. The Bearcats outscored Bryant 9-1 to pull away and take firm control of the game.
Quarter 4: Binghamton had a slight 3-2 advantage in the fourth but their explosive third quarter was already enough to send the Bulldogs packing.

Notes and Notables

  • Riley O'Mara, Emily DeGeorge, and Kenna Kaut all tallied a pair of goals on the afternoon. Kaut also had an assist to her name in the game.
  • Amelia Piercy and Elise Larsen each put up a goal as well. Like Kaut, Piercy also had an assist in the contest.
  • Peyton Woodward dished out two assists to bring her to 35 on the campaign. She finishes the season tied for third in single season assists and third in single season assists per game in the program's Division I history.
  • Binghamton had the advantage in shots, 36-21, ground balls, 19-14, and draw controls 20-12, over the Bulldogs.
  • Goalkeepers Sam Centofante and Isabella Cardi shared time in net. Centofante made ten saves while Cardi did not register a save in the game.
