#25 Women's Soccer Bulldogs down Caldwell 4-0 in Season Opener
Aug 25, 2006

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. - The 25th-ranked Bryant Women's Soccer Team kicked off its 2006 campaign in stellar fashion at the Pace University Tournament, downing Caldwell 4-0.

Senior co-captain Casey Grange (Methuen, Mass.) scored two late second-half goals, while sophomore defenseman Kellie Barker (Westfield, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal. Freshman goaltender Katie Mitchell (Deer Park, N.Y.) made two saves in goal for the Bulldogs to earn her first collegiate win in her first start.

"We were a little slow in the first half, due in part to the wet field conditions from a passing rain storm," said Bulldogs coach Chris Flint. "But we picked it up in the second and played well."

The Bulldogs took the early 1-0 lead behind a Caldwell own goal.

Bryant (1-0) will take on Dominican Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the final game of the Pace University Tournament.
