#25 Women's Soccer Defeats Georgian Court in Garden Inn Friendly Finale

WORCESTER, MA. - The Bryant women's soccer team, ranked 25th nationally in the Division II NSCAA Rankings, remained unbeaten in 2007 after rallying for three second-half goals in a 3-0 win over Georgian Court Sunday afternoon in the final day of the Garden Inn Friendly at Assumption College.

The Bulldogs scored three goals in just over six minutes early in the second half to secure their third victory of the season.

Freshman Sarah Donovan (Storrs, CT) got the Bulldogs going at 51:34, as she scored her first collegiate goal unassisted, collecting a ball off a Georgian Court defender and firing it past goaltender Lindsay Hammond.

Senior tri-captain Tricia Spada (Dedham, MA) made it 2-0 in the 56th minute off a penalty kick. By scoring her third of the year, Spada matched her goal output of 2006.

Just 110 seconds later, junior midfielder Amy Orzechowski (Milford, CT) made it 3-0, taking a Donovan pass and beating Hammond with a shot to the right-corner post.

Bryant dominated territorially outshooting its opponents 24-2.

Bulldog netminder Jessica Clark (Barnstable, MA) picked up her first win of the season. She did not need to make a save, while picking up the clean sheet.

After going 1-0-1 in the Assumption-hosted tournament, Orzechowski, Donovan, and Alex Dipippo (Shelton, CT) were named to the All-Tournament team.

The Bulldogs (3-0-1) will open conference play Wednesday at Stonehill (4 p.m.) before taking on the preseason Northeast-10 favorite Franklin Pierce Saturday (7 p.m.) at the Bryant Turf Complex.
