#4 Women's Soccer Stays Unbeaten; Blanks American International 6-0

#4 Women's Soccer Romps AIC 6-0

SMITHFIELD, RI. - The Bryant women's soccer team, ranked fourth in the nation and first in the New England region, remained unbeaten after blanking American International 6-0 Thursday night at the Bryant Turf Complex.

All six Bulldog goals came from non-starters in the victory, including two from Daisy Martinez (Eliot, ME).

The game was scoreless until the 34th minute when Kristin Fisher (Plymouth, MA) beat two defenders and the goaltender for her third goal of the season. Alex Dipippo (Shelton, CT) picked up the assist.

Freshman Megan Vayo (Hanson, MA.) made it 2-0 four minutes later taking a pass from Martinez and scoring for her second tally of the season.

Martinez capped off the first-half scoring in the 43rd minute when she took a pretty cross from Amy Orzechowski (Milford, CT), scoring her first of the night and the season. She then put home a rebound off a Stephanie Zalewski (Parsippany, NJ) shot nine minutes later for her second tally.

Kim Rich (Lancaster, MA) and Dipippo rounded out the scoring with Zalewski and Lauren Childers (Franklin, MA) earning assists.

The Bulldogs dominated throughout, out shooting the Yellow Jackets 24-2. Danielle Modecker stopped 11 shots in the loss.

Bryant (6-0-2, 3-0-1) will take visit UMass-Lowell Saturday (2 p.m.) in Lowell, MA.
